The Town of Clinton is again offering residents an innovative way to get rid of all those wilting Christmas trees still in your home or at your curb.
The Clinton Business Association and the town Recreation Department will be holding their sixth annual Christmas Tree Bonfire Party on Sat., Jan. 18 starting at 5:30pm in the Frances J. Mark Memorial Park on Clinton Hollow Road (County Route 18).
More than 70 people came to the last bonfire and this event continues by popular request, according to a news release.
You can bring your Christmas tree directly to the party for burning. Or, if you call today (call 266-5754), you may be able to have it picked up. (Jan. 16 is the rain/snow pick-up date.)
The whole community is invited to this free event. Hot dogs and hot chocolate will be provided free. Also, long sticks will be provided, so bring marshmallows, chocolate bars, and graham crackers to make s’mores. Bring sleds for the hill if there’s snow, and dress warmly and wear boots.
If you wish to make a monetary contribution for food, fuel for the
tree pickup trucks, etc., mail a check made payable to Clinton Business
Association c/o Norma Dolan, 956 Pumpkin Lane, Clinton Corners, N.Y.
12514.
