2 arrested after Hyde Park gas station hold-up

Two men from Poughkeepsie have been arrested on felony charges in connection with an armed robbery of a Sunoco station in Hyde Park Feb. 18.

According to a Hyde Park Police report, officers received a call at 8:59pm for a silent hold-up alarm at the gas station at 381 Violet Ave. The clerk reported that a male entered the store and displayed a large knife, demanded money, then fled on foot with an undetermined amount of cash, the report said.

Using a Poughkeepsie police K-9 unit, officers went to an apartment complex on School St., where they located two men who matched the description of the suspects. The police recovered monetary proceeds, the weapon used during the robbery and clothing worn by the suspects, the report added.

The suspects, , 23, and , 27, were charged with first-degree robbery, a felony, and petty larceny, a misdemeanor. They were arraigned and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail on $100,000 cash or $200,000 bail bond.
