Hudson man charged with Red Hook car thefts

, 22, of Hudson, was arrested April 29 and charged with two counts of grand larceny, both felonies, as well as trespass, a violation, in connection with a series of car thefts in Red Hook the weekend of April 26, according to a Red Hook Police report. During that weekend, the police report said, officers received multiple complaints about thefts from vehicles, including credit cards and a firearm, in the Village and Town of Red Hook. Police obtained a description of the suspect and the plate number of the car allegedly used in the crimes, which was reported stolen in Troy on April 25. Deputies from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle and took into custody in the town of Greenport. He is currently being held at the Columbia County Jail and, according to the police report, faces additional charges.
