Two murals will be unveiled at 7pm Tuesday night at Red Hook Village Hall.
The murals are the result of a partnership between Red Hook Public Library and Bard College’s Bard Palestinian Youth Initiative, and reflects the relationship between the local library and the Children’s Library of Mas’Ha in the West Bank.
During this year’s summer reading program, elementary age children from Red Hook and Mas’Ha worked on murals on canvas. At the end of the summer, the mural from Mas’Ha was brought to Red Hook, where it will be shared until both murals are sent to Mas’Ha.
Each of the murals reflects the theme of “Family, Community and Land,” issues important to both of the rural villages.
The reception will take place before the Town Board meeting, also to be held at Village Hall.
All are welcome to attend this free event.
