Fireworks continue in Poughkeepsie as Comptroller criticizes county budget

Dutchess County Executive William Steinhaus has let loose a blistering attack on county Comptroller James Coughlan, suggesting the fiscal watchdog is overstepping his bounds and passing judgement on fiscal matters he knows nothing about. Steinhaus’ attack on Tuesday came days after Coughlan, in a published opinion piece, criticized the 2012 county budget developed by Steinhaus and suggested county legislators who approved it didn’t understand its implications….
