In a recent letter written to William Gorton, acting regional director of the state Department of Transportation, Village of Tivoli Mayor Bryan Cranna expressed his disappointment in DOT’s decision to deny a traffic study at the intersection of Route 9G and Dutchess County Route 78.
DOT had concerns with placing a stop light at the intersection and Cranna agreed with that decision, citing the potential for rear-end collisions. But he is hopeful that a new study will show, at the very least, a flashing caution light would be warranted or flashing stop signs on County Route 78.
