Summer free meals available for kids

Free meals for kids 18 and under are available throughout Dutchess County through the Summer Food Service Program.

Families can take advantage of the meals, which are offered in Poughkeepsie, Beacon and Millerton, throughout the summer. There is no paperwork or residency requirement.

The Summer Food Service Program, which is funded by the state and federal governments, provides the free nutritious meals to children while school is not in session. According to the food program, at least one out of every two children utilizes the free and reduced lunch program during the school year, indicating that these children and their families need support during the summer months.

Parents can call 845-677-8223 x150 to find out more about the Summer Food Service Programs in the county.
