Tivoli volunteers needed for Memorial Park work

With construction about to begin in Tivoli’s Memorial Park, Mayor Bryan Cranna and Village Trustee Robin Bruno are calling upon village residents to volunteer their time and resources to assist with redesigning and improving the park.

Plans call for refurbishing the pavilion and the existing bathrooms, placing water fountains in the park, resurfacing the basketball court, and installing changes to make the park handicapped-accessible and more appealing, according to Cranna.

“Thanks to a $100,000 Community Development Block Grant awarded by Dutchess County, Tivoli is about to begin construction in the park,” said Cranna. “However, there are many other areas within the park that need assistance that the grant funding will not cover, and this is where residents are needed if we are to have a park in Tivoli that will be welcoming.”

Projects that need volunteer help include painting, minor repairs to the dugouts and bleachers, and other areas that will help to improve the appearance and condition of the park.
