Dutchess County Fair to honor tickets from last year, use new traffic pattern

Hurricane Irene caused the Dutchess County Fair to pack up early last year, leaving many people with unused tickets. However, the Board of Directors of the Agricultural Society made the decision to honor tickets not used last year for this year’s event, which starts Aug. 21.

For those who don’t have tickets, they are available at local merchants and you can visit www.dutchessfair.com for more information.

Also, this year’s entrance pattern has been switched: cars will enter the fairgrounds at the north end and depart from the main entrance at the south end, a reversal from previous years. The goal is to eliminate the perennial problem of pedestrians walking across incoming traffic to get from the parking fields to the entrance gates.
