Red Hook resident charged with rape

Christopher P. Loftus, 20, of Red Hook was arrested Aug. 14 and charged with rape in an incident involving a 14-year-old Milan teenager.

A report by the New York State Police at Rhinebeck said its investigators found that Loftus entered a residential dwelling in the town of Milan on Aug. 1 and removed a 14-year-old female. Once outside the dwelling, the police said, Loftus forcibly engaged in sexual intercourse with the female without her consent.

Loftus was arraigned in Town of Milan Court on a charge of rape in the first degree, a class B felony, and was remanded to Dutchess County Jail in lieu of a $250,000 cash or $500,000 bond bail.
