Summer basketball winners crowned

Red Hook’s summer basketball league drew to a close last week, after each of its divisions found a champion.

In the Sunday Night Division, Kingston beat Matt Parr insurance 57-40 in the semifinals to win a championship seed against Enigma, who beat Ellenville 50-43 to win a place in the title match. Enigma cruised to win, beating Kingston 72-44 for the crown, led by scorer Tom Howard’s 19 points.

In the A Division, Enigma beat Slingers 53-44 and the Cardinals beat the Whalers 51-40 in the semis. Enigma grabbed the hardware, manhandling the Cardinals in a 59-41 route. Tom Howard of Enigma and Dan Totten of the Cardinals tied for the scoring lead, each putting up 16.

In the B Division semis, Matt Parr Insurance beat Young Guns 55-49 and Thruway Nissan beat Johnny O’s 48-40. Matt Parr Insurance whipped Thruway Nissan 50-36 in the title game, which was led in scoring by Matt Parr’s Rob LaMont with 15.

Charlie O’s nabbed the C Division championship from Village Pizza, 54-52. Charlie O’s Bisme Allan led the game in scoring with 25 points; Village Pizza’s Bill Diedrick put up 24.
