The Town of Red Hook Zoning Board of Appeals approved a variance for Philippe Lebeau of 95 Country Club Road at its meeting Sept, 12. Lebeau plans to renovate the existing residence and build a one-story garage. The variance reduces the side yard setback requirements from 20 feet to 10 feet and increases building coverage on the parcel from 7 percent to 14 percent. The board voted to approve the plans because there was precedent for similar variances in the neighborhood and because the town code requiring a 20-foot setback was created after the houses were built.
