Parents in Rhinebeck and Red Hook were alerted through school channels on Dec. 19 following a report from Hyde Park about a driver in a white van approaching a school-age child.
A report later that day from the Red Hook Police relayed a possible sighting of a white van with a ski-masked driver on Route 199 in Red Hook.
Police and school administrators remind parents to review safety procedures regarding strangers with their children and to report anything suspicious to local authorities.
