Red Hook, Tivoli set village elections March 19

Red Hook and Tivoli have set March 19 as Election Day for village-wide public offices. Each municipality has two trustee positions on the ballot. The Village of Tivoli will also be electing a mayor.

In Red Hook, the seats held by trustees Jennifer Norris and Steven Zacharzuk will be up for re-election. Zacharzuk was appointed last June by Mayor Ed Blundell to complete the term of retired trustee David Seymour.

Norris has confirmed that she plans to seek re-election; there has been no word yet from Zarcharzuk. Village trustees sit for a four-year term.

In Tivoli, the seats held by trustees Susan Ezrati and Robin Bruno will be open for contention. Ezrati has confirmed she will seek re-election for what would be her fourth term on the Village Board. Bruno has also announced that she will run for re-election.

Tivoli Mayor Bryan Cranna has announced that he will be seeking a second two-year term in office. Cranna previously served on the Board of Trustees for seven years, including three as deputy mayor.

Those interested in running for office in their village are required to collect a petition of 50 signatures from village residents and file it with their Village Clerk between Feb. 7 and Feb. 14. Candidates must be residents of the village. For more information, contact the Red Hook clerk’s office at 845-758-1081 or the Village of Tivoli clerk’s office at 845-757-2021.

Voting will be held in the Red Hook and Tivoli village halls between noon and 9pm.
