Tivoli mayor, 2 trustees re-elected

Tivoli Mayor Bryan Cranna, Trustee Robin Bruno and Trustee Susan Ezrati have all retained their seats in the village government in the March 19 elections.

One hundred and nine residents overcame the sudden onset of blizzard-like weather, and the fact that every candidate was running unopposed, to cast their votes.

Cranna, a Republican, sealed his victory with an even 100 votes. Trustees Robin Bruno, also a Republican, and Democrat Susan Ezrati have been sent back to village hall with a mandate of 92 and 70 votes respectively. All the positions carry two-year terms. Voting was held at the Tivoli Firehouse this year, because the Village Hall elevator breakdown rendered the building noncompliant with the Americans With Disabilities Act.

The firehouse’s first floor multipurpose area proved a convenient location, and village board members said they would investigate making a permanent venue change for all elections.

At the March 20 Board of Trustees meeting, the sitting trustees congratulated the winners and declared they were looking forward to working together for another term.
