A tail-wagging fund-raiser for animal rescue efforts will take over the Mid-Hudson Civic Center when area businesses host the second annual “Go Dog Go! show.
The all-day event on Sunday, April 14 is sponsored by Pause Dog Boutique, Ruge’s Subaru and Pet Country in Rhinebeck, Creative Hardwood Flooring in Staatsburg and the Dutchess United Educators.
The show features a series of creative show categories and an ultimate “Best in Show” contest. And it’s open to all breeds, mixed-breeds, would-be breeds and just plain underdogs. As the sponsors said in a news release, “Go Dog Go!” is “a fun event designed to showcase your dog’s sense of humor tricks and style. Barking allowed. Big personalities rewarded.”
In addition, the day will also feature dog-related activities, a Tricks Tourney, demonstrations, and booths for adoption and information, and animal-friendly authors for book signings.
Proceeds go to local animal rescue and advocacy efforts, and there will be a dog food collection for animals in need.
