Red Hook public hearings on tap

The Red Hook town board is holding a public hearing at 8pm on April 24 in Town Hall on the transfer of a .58 acre parcel of land from the water district to the town, to be used as a pedestrian and bike path connecting Aspinwall Road to the proposed recreation park extension on Linden Avenue across from the Rec Park.

On May 14, at 8:15pm, another public hearing will be hold on three laws that would outlaw hydrofracking activities in the town of Red Hook. Two of the laws ban the use of fracking brine as a de-icer on town roads and the disposal of any fracking by-products within the town. The third law adds hydrofracking to the list of prohibited heavy industry in town.
