Rain dampens Apple Blossom

The vendors were prepared with pop-up tents and canopies, but turnout was low for Red Hook’s annual Apple Blossom Festival on May 11 as a result of the rainy weather. Things picked up noticeably during a brief window of sunshine around 1pm, but the crowds thinned quickly as skies darkened and heavier rains began. Vendors estimated that foot traffic was down about 2/3 from the 2012 event.
