Woman injured in CVS parking lot robbery in Red Hook; suspect arrested

A daylight purse-snatching in the parking lot of the CVS pharmacy in Red Hook June 11 injured the victim and resulted in the arrest of a suspect in Germantown two days later.

The incident occurred at 6:15pm, according to a report from the Dutchess County Sheriff’s office.

In a news release, the sheriff’s office said officers were sent to the CVS parking lot following a 911 call.

“The suspect … had allegedly grabbed the victim’s purse and struggled with her before fleeing. The victim fell to the ground during the struggle, suffered non-life threatening injuries in the form of abrasions and back pain, and was treated and released at the scene by EMS,” the news release said.

The victim was not identified. Her purse was dropped by the suspect and found at the scene.

Witnesses reportedly described the suspect and his vehicle to sheriff’s deputies who, after further investigation aided by the State Police, arrested Ronald Duntz, 30, of Germantown, on June 13 and charged him with robbery in the second degree, a class C felony.

Duntz was arraigned at the Town of Milan Court and sent to Dutchess County Jail with a $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond. The sheriff’s office said further charges may be pending.
