Men’s hoopsters keep trading the wins

Over the last two weeks in Division A of the Red Hook Rec Park Men’s Basketball league, Matt Parr Alumni has keyed two wins, the first a 51-47 win over Slackers in which Joe Stortini led all scorers with 24 points, and the second a 55-46 win over Roosevelt, in which Rob Lamont led all scorers with 15 points.

Dutchess Beer split their games, winning against Ryan’s Renegades 62-61, in a game led in scoring by Dan Totten with 21, and falling to Matt Parr Varsity 72-52, in a game led in scoring by Red Hook great Greg Nero with 31. Millbrook keyed two wins, beating the Slackers 58-50 with Justin Simmons leading with 27 points, and besting Roosevelt 68-47.

One rung lower, in the B Division, Derek and the Dominoes had a rough week, grabbing one victory to two losses. The win was a 41-30 victory over Willie’s Warriors, and the two losses came against Johnny O’s, a 59-53 drop led in scoring by Derek Pinnelli with 23, and against Young Guns, 64-46, in which Dejuan Bowers and Derek Pinnelli split the scoring lead with 23.

Young Guns also fell to Ryan McCann Insurance, 54-28, in a game led in scoring, appropriately, by Tim McCann. McCann Insurance grabbed another two victories, beating Johnny O’s 42-30 in a game led in scoring by Jesse Smith with 15, and beating Kingston Nissan in a 37-33 point game led in scoring, once again, by Jesse Smith with 17.

The B Division Dutchess Beer team beat Disco Ninjas 47-45 in a game led in scoring by Andrew Runolk with 13, and fell to Kingston Nissan, 56-52 in a game led in scoring by Tyler Olay. Disco Ninjas beat Willie’s Warriors 51-40 in a game led in scoring by Corey van Wagner with 25, and Flynn Electric destroyed Johnny O’s 82-53 in a game led in scoring by Ryan Dalton with 20.

In the C Division, Spectrum Graphics scored a pair of wins, beating Christina’s Pizza, 60-41, in a game led in scoring by Paddy Parr with 33, and Colonial Subaru, 39-30, in a game led in scoring by Demitrus Brown with 14. Colonial chalked up another loss to BFAS, losing 47-30 in a game led in scoring by Brian Messmer, but grabbed a win against Landworks, 48-40, in a game led in scoring by Nick Rooney.

BFAS managed another win, beating Foam and Car Wash, 40-37, in a game led in scoring by Mandy Fuchs. Sherriff’s PBA scored two wins, one over Village Pizza, 54-52, in an overtime match led in scoring by Stephen Muller with 14, and the other over Christina’s Pizza, 47-40, a game led in scoring by Dan Thomas with 24. Landworks also beat Village Pizza, 47-36, in a game led in scoring by Mike Rogers with 21, and Raiders beat Foam and Car Wash, 62-59, in a game led in scoring by Brendan Tator with 23.
