Hyde Park Police report an armed robbery at the Mobil Gas Station located at 1110 Violet Ave in Hyde Park on August 5 at approximately 3:59 am. Hyde Park Police Detective Division along with the New York State Police Major Crimes Unit report that, according to the store’s video surveillance record, a black male entering the store at 3:54 am and began to ask the clerk questions about various items in the store. A second black male entered the store at 3:55 am, held the clerk at gun point, and demanded that the clerk fill a plastic bag with cash. The suspects exited the store and fled west from the store on foot.
The first suspect who entered the store is described as a black male, possibly mid to early twenties in age, with a mustache. He was wearing a black shirt, black hat, camouflage shorts, and black and white sneakers. The second suspect, who wielded the gun, is described as a black male wearing a red shirt, red hat, dark blue jeans and white sneakers.
