The Rhinebeck Zoning Board of Appeals has scheduled four public hearings for its next meeting Aug. 21 as a result of applications presented at its Aug. 7 meeting.
Joseph Romeo applied for an area variance seeking setback reduction from 20 feet to 10 feet for his property at 15 Delano Drive in order to build a pool. He said that without the variance, the pool would be too close to the house so that kids would try to jump off his deck and into the pool. The application was accepted subject to the board’s receiving a complete diagram of the yard and pool. Public hearing on Aug. 21 at 7:30pm.
John Lyons applied for an area variance seeking a square footage increase from 1,500 square feet to 2,304 square feet for his property at 224 Morton Road. He wants to build a 12’x32′ sq. ft. shed; an existing garage has put him over the square footage limit. The application was accepted, public hearing Aug. 21 at 7:40pm.
Charles Wiles applied for an area variance seeking setback reduction from 50 feet to 40 feet for his property at 21 Peacock Road. Board member Scott Bergin recused himself from the public hearing because he is a neighbor of Wiles. Application accepted, public hearing Aug. 21 at 8pm.
Steven Sigloch applied for an area variance seeking surface coverage reduction from 17.7 percent to 13.7 percent for property located at 191 Rhinecliff Road. Sigloch is looking to build a new one-car garage and convert an old garage into a living room. However, the footage of impervious surfaces on the property currently prohibits the new building. Application accepted, hearing Aug. 21 at 8pm.
