Hyde Park SPCA to shut for cleaning

The Dutchess County SPCA will close its Hyde Park shelter for two days, Aug. 16 and 17, so the animal areas can get a thorough cleaning.

While the shelter will be closed for adoptions and medical clinic appointments, the Thrift Shoppe and satellite adoption center inside the PetSmart in Poughkeepsie will remain open, according to an SPCA news release.

Those interested in adoption are encouraged to visit the shelter when it re-opens Sun., Aug. 18 or stop into PetSmart to see some of the adoptable animals. Those seeking appointments for their animal in the low-cost medical clinic should call the shelter: 845-452-7722.
