4 hurt in 3-car crash in Rhinebeck

Emergency workers were on the scene Aug. 14 after a three-vehicle crash on Route 9G at the intersection of Middle Road in Rhinebeck shut down the road for more than an hour during afternoon rush hour. Four people were hurt; three were taken to Northern Dutchess Hospital, the most seriously injured was taken to St. Francis Hospital, according to a Rhinebeck Fire Department news release. The news release reported that one car was stopped in the southbound lane of Route 9G waiting to turn onto Middle Road, when it was rear ended and pushed into northbound traffic, where it was struck by a northbound vehicle and spun around. The road was shut for more than an hour. Assisting the Sheriff’s Office at the scene were the Rhinebeck Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Northern Dutchess Paramedics, and the Rhinebeck Police Department.
