Bard volleyball team loses at tournament

The Bard College women’s volleyball team was swept on the final day of the David Hildebrandt Memorial Tournament, hosted by Newbury College in Brookline, Mass..

Bard lost to Albertus Magnus, 3-1, and to Newbury, 3-0.

Senior Mai Aurell-Foulser led Bard in kills with eight against Albertus Magnus and seven against Newbury. Junior Lexi Cooper (Round Rock, Texas) had 30 assists over the course of both games, and freshman Daniella Azulai (Brooklyn, N.Y.) compiled 31 digs.

Azulai was named to the All-Tournament Team.

On the first day of the tournament, Bard lost to Suffolk University, 3-0.

Neither team hit the ball particularly well, but Suffolk junior Tori Brillaud (North Andover, Mass.) finished with 11 kills and a team-high eight digs. For Bard, Tytravia Riley (Miami, Fla.) had six kills, Cooper contributed 14 assists and nine digs, and Azulai led the Raptors with 13 digs.
