There will be a little something for every avid reader when the Starr Library opens its two-day October book sale on Oct. 4.

Here’s your chance to stock up on winter reading and get a head start on holiday shopping. The sale, sponsored by the Friends of the Starr Library, runs from 10am to 5 pm on Fri., Oct. 4, and from 10am to 4pm on Sat. Oct. 5.

It will feature a collection of books about World War II and about American history. There will also be collections on sports, history, biography, travel, animals, family life, and self-improvement. And a wide selection of adult and children’s fiction, along with a good range of poetry. All for 50 cents or $1.

The sale, which benefits programs at the library, will be held on the lower level of the library at 68 West Market St. in Rhinebeck. For more information, call 845-876-4030 or go to starrlibrary.org.

The Friends will also hold a Holiday Book Sale Dec. 13 and 14, with holiday-related books and more mint-condition books for gift-giving.
