Marlboro pounds Red Hook’s Raiders, 42-7

Marlboro hasn’t exactly been kind to the Red Hook Raiders in the past few years.

The Iron Dukes have beaten Red’s varsity football team by double digits every year since 2007, and Red Hook’s 42-7 loss at Marlboro Sept. 27 was their worst yet.

Marlboro had Red Hook’s run game figured out. After trailing 21-0 at halftime, Red running back Dustin Ducey managed a touchdown in the third quarter on an eight-yard run to avoid the blowout.

“That was a rough one,” Red Hook head coach John Kravic told The Observer after the game.

With the loss, Red Hook falls to 2-2, and 1-2 in the division, trailing Marlboro, Rondout Valley, New Paltz, and Highland in Section IX Class B play. The Raiders still have a chance to make up some ground against Class B Dover when they meet Oct. 5.
