Rhinebeck, Red Hook girls soccer teams win division titles

The Rhinebeck Lady Hawks wrapped up the Mid-Hudson Athletic League Division IV soccer title on Oct. 10 with a 4-1 win over Webutuck and, following a 4-1 victory over John A. Coleman on Oct. 17, finished with a perfect record in the division. They were to face Spackenkill in the MHAL semifinals at Marlboro on Oct. 21 at 7pm.

But a tidy wrap-up isn’t Red Hook’s style: a 110-minute game with Marlboro that would decide the winner of MHAL Division II was called because of darkness on Oct. 18, and the penalty kicks to decide the game were moved to the next day at Rhinebeck. Red Hook won in penalty kicks, sealing the team’s 11th straight divisional title. They were to face off with Saugerties at Marlboro on Oct. 21 at 5pm in the MHAL semifinal.

Red Hook boys soccer split two games

Red Hook boys soccer had a big up and a rough down last week, beating Taconic Hills 8-0 on Oct. 14, but falling to Marlboro, 2-1, on Oct. 16. Dennis Hare and Josh Sivulich both managed two goals against Taconic Hills. The team has two regular season games left on the slate, one at Millbrook on Oct. 21 at 7pm and the other against Valley Central on Oct. 23 at 4:30pm.
