MAKING MERRY: A crowd of 50 gathered for the Village of Red Hook tree lighting Dec. 8. There was carol singing accompanied by a brass quintet from the high school. Then Santa made his second appearance of the day, after listening to children’s wishes at a special farmers’ market in the municipal parking lot. Over 300 shoppers attended the market, which featured more music, including a flute trio from the high school; children’s crafts were hosted indoors at Village Hall.
