Water emergency ends in Hyde Park, Rhinebeck

The restrictions on water use for customers in Hyde Park and southern Rhinebeck have ended.

The Dutchess County Water and Wastewater Authority lifted its emergency advisory Friday morning, after a restricted intake pipe in the Hudson River returned to full capacity.

In a news release, the authority said customers may return to normal water use.

The emergency action, with recommendations for cutting noncritical water use, was instituted late Wednesday for all customers in: the Hyde Park Water System (formerly the Hyde Park Fire and Water District), the Staatsburg Water System (including areas in the southern part of the Town of Rhinebeck), Zone L and the Harbourd Hills/Zone D Water System.
