Award-winning Israeli clarinetist Moran Katz will solo with the Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra at a Rhinebeck High School concert Feb. 8.
The 28-year-old Katz, who performs extensively throughout the United States, Europe and Asia as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician, recently won the Houston Symphony’s prestigious 38th annual Ima Hogg Competition, in which young musicians from around the world competed. Katz has appeared several times in Dutchess County, most recently with the group Decoda at Vassar College last September.
Her performance with the Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra is part of a program featuring Beethoven’s Overture to Egmont and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4. Katz will highlight the evening with her rendition of Weber’s Concerto No. 1. Op. 73.
The concert, at 7:30pm at Rhinebeck High School, is conducted by Kathleen Beckmann.
Ticket prices are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $5 for students. To buy tickets or for more information, visit www.ndsorchestra.org or call 845-635-
