Tivoli fire official arrested on pot, texting charges

A former assistant fire chief of the Tivoli Fire Department was arrested in Red Hook in November and charged with criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor, as well as texting while driving and having an expired inspection, both infractions, according to a just-released Red Hook police report. , 28, of Tivoli was arrested Nov. 24 at 11:25am on Firehouse Lane, the report said. He was 1st assistant fire chief at the time; he is now 1st Lieutenant in the fire department, according to Tivoli officials. He was processed and released on tickets to appear in court at a later date.
