Hyde Park Historical Society sets events

Independent filmmaker Jim Ormond will be the featured speaker at the Hyde Park Historical Society’s meeting Tues., March 25, at 7pm at the United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on Route 9.

Osmond, who enjoys making short documentaries on local history subjects, will show a DVD and talk about “Hudson River Brick Makers.” Copies of the DVD will also be available for purchase. Following his presentation, there will be refreshments and a business meeting. Anyone interested in local history is invited to attend and join.

The society is also accepting reservations for its seventh “Eleanor Roosevelt Knit-In,” which will be held on Sun., May 4. Details and the reservation form are available at: www.townofhydeparkny-historicalsociety.org.
