Red Hook man charged with felony criminal mischief

, 55, of Red Hook, was arrested Feb. 28 in the Town of Red Hook and charged with third-degree criminal mischief involving property valued at less than $250, a felony, endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment, a violation, according to a State Police report. Investigation revealed that on Feb. 25 at approximately 7:30pm, allegedly engaged in a verbal argument with his wife at their residence when he picked up an ashtray and threw it at a wall, causing the ashtray to strike his wife and her daughter. He then exited the residence, picked up a metal rake and smashed two separate car windshields without realizing there was a 5-year-old boy in one of the cars, who was uninjured, the report said. was arraigned in Village of Red Hook Court and remanded to Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.
