FDR Home hosting history book fete

The Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum and the Friends of the Poughkeepsie Public Library District will present the second annual Hudson Valley History Reading Festival on Sat. April 12 in the Henry A. Wallace Center.

Four sessions, beginning at 10am, will feature authors of recently published books on Hudson Valley history reading their work followed by book signings. Copies of the books will be for sale in the New Deal Store in the Wallace Center. All sessions are free.

The schedule starts with Jonathan Kruk, author of “Legends and Lore of Sleepy Hollow and the Hudson Valley” at 10am, followed by Vincent T. Dacquino and “Hauntings of the Hudson River Valley: An Investigative Journey” at 11am.

After a lunch break, Peter G. Rose will read from “Summer Pleasures, Winter Pleasures: A Hudson Valley Cookbook” at 1pm, and Anthony P. Musso will talk about “Hidden Treasures of the Hudson Valley, Volume 2” at 2pm.
