A late-night car crash near the Tivoli intersection of Route 9G claimed the life of a 30-year-old Kingston woman last night, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver, Amanda Timbrouck, was pronounced dead at the scene after the accident at 11:15pm, a Sheriff’s Office news release said. She was alone in the car, the report said, and appeared to be heading south when she lost control of the vehicle approximately 1,000 feet north of Kidd Lane.
The vehicle then went into a sideslip, exited the roadway, and struck a tree on the western shoulder, the report added, citing unsafe speed as a possible factor in the crash. The investigation, however, is ongoing.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office, the Village of Red Hook Police, and the Tivoli Fire Department.
