Red Hook Apple Blossom Day

The rites of spring will be celebrated Saturday when Red Hook’s annual Apple Blossom Day takes over the village.

Presented by the Red Hook Rotary Club, the festivities include local merchant offerings, flea markets and other vendors, food and plenty of activities for the whole family.

The day, which runs from 10am – 4pm, will also feature a kids’ area with baby animals, face painting and balloons and live entertainment at the municipal parking lot, including the Solas An Lae Dance Company at 11:30am, Grass Fed bluegrass band at 12:30pm, McCanna Band at 1:30pm and The String Masters Country Band at 2:30pm.

In addition, there will be the grand opening of the Red Hook Library Children’s Learning Garden at 1pm, complete with crafts, face painting and light refreshments.

The celebration concludes with a 1950s Sock Hop and classic car show from 6 to 9pm at Vibe dance studio in Hardscrabble Plaza. Admission is $10, dancers under age 12 are free and a dance lesson is included. All proceeds go to the Red Hook Rotary Club for community programs.
