Hyde Park is getting ready to put on a parade; two, in fact.
Anyone wanting to participate in the parades on Memorial Day and July 4th must register with the town Recreation Department. The Memorial Day Parade sign-up deadline is May 9; the July 4th Parade sign-up deadline is June 13.
Parade participants will have the option to compete for a trophy in the following categories: Marching Unit, Fire Dept., Community Float, Commercial Float and Performance Group.
This year’s Independence Day parade will feature “Hyde Park Railroad Station – Celebrating 100 years!” as its theme. The Hudson Valley Railroad Society will be honored as Grand Marshal.
