Hazardous waste recycling day set

The town of Rhinebeck Highway Department will hold a hazardous waste disposal day on Sat., June 7 for Dutchess County residents.

The collections will include household items and electronics items, to be brought to the department at 119 Rhinecliff Road in Rhinebeck.

Pre-registration and a $5 payment is required. Call 463-6020 or visit www.DCRRA.org to register and schedule an appointment, then send a check to: ‘DCRRA’ Dutchess County Resource Recovery Agency, 96 Sand Dock Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.

Accepted items include pool chemicals, flammable liquid and stains, strippers and varnishes, auto fluids, pesticides and herbicides, button batters and lithium and sealed lead acid batteries, fluorescent lights, non-freon small appliances; computer monitors, fax machines, printers and TVs.

Non-acceptable items include: ammunition and explosives, latex paint and driveway sealers, motor oil, car batteries, construction debris, furniture, medical waste, propane, radioactive materials, scrap metal, air conditioners and dehumidifiers, and metal drums.
