DCC offers summer film workshop for high school students

A new documentary film course at Dutchess Community College will profile sustainable agriculture in Dutchess County this summer.

ENC 503 is open to high school students in the 10th through 12th grades and runs from July 14 to July 26, Monday to Saturdays, 9am to 6pm. The documentary film workshop is a non-credit course totaling 96 hours and the cost to enroll is $950.

According to course instructor Megan Sperry, the first week will include pre-production techniques and the first days of filming. The second week, students will learn post-production skills, and the course will close with a screening of the documentary and a closing night celebration. After the course, the film will also be shown on the local public access TV channel PANDA throughout the year.
