Students graduating high school this month in Rhinebeck or Clinton have a chance to lay out their ideals for local government.
Dutchess County Legislator Joel Tyner is sponsoring his 11th annual essay contest on how a student would best represent Rhinebeck and Clinton.
To participate, students should email their 500-word essays to firstname.lastname@example.org or mail them c/o Joel Tyner to the legislature offices at 22 Market St., Poughkeepsie 12601. The deadline is June 20.
Winners will be recognized at this month’s Rhinebeck High School commencement exercises, receive a $100 savings bond and have the opportunity to discuss their essay on Tyner’s Saturday morning radio show on WHVW 950 AM.
