As part of its ongoing commitment to the community to help support local programs, Rondout Savings Bank recently donated $4,000 to the Kingston YMCA Farm Project.
“As a local community bank, we believe it is important to support the communities in which we do business,” said James Davenport, President and Chief Executive Officer of Rondout Savings Bank, in a bank news release. “The board and I were very impressed by the Kingston YMCA’s unique agricultural project, and we are pleased to have the opportunity to lend our support.”
The Kingston YMCA Farm Project aims to empower and educate young people by engaging them in sustainable food production on an urban farm. This farm project was created to give the communities in Kingston and Ulster County access to the freshest produce, providing great food at a fair price and also educating children in a fun way about the benefits of growing their own food and eating healthy.
