Life Scout Michael Callejo, 17, is surrounded by (l. to r.) Scoutmaster Jacques Donovan, Scouts Connor Donovan, Christian Rohrmeier and Vaughn Donovan, and Assistant Scoutmaster Rich Beals, in front of one of the bookshelves they built at the Red Hook Library as part of Michael’s Eagle Scout project. He led the construction of the five 8 ft. high solid-oak bookshelves and also organized a spaghetti dinner to raise money for the materials. Michael was 11 when he joined Boy Scout Troop 42 in Red Hook and has earned over 35 badges and is now a Life Scout. “We are incredibly fortunate to have the talents and energy of the Boy Scouts, and grateful that Michael chose the library for his Eagle Scout project. His shelves will be enjoyed for years to come!” said library director Erica Freudenberger.
