Men’s Basketball League season winding down

As summer winds down, so does the Red Hook Men’s Basketball League, with regular games over and round-robin playoffs ahead.

In the A-League, Bard Alumni keyed a tight win over Dutchess Beverage, 61-57. Frank Stortini led all scorers with 19. Hawks whipped Break Point Tennis, 51-27; Travis Banks of Hawks led all scorers with 15. Break Point almost stole a game from Arlington, but fell 48-43; Andrew Ziemans led all scorers with 17.

Hawks grabbed another win, beating Matt Parr Alumni 40-31. Kevin Cayea led all scorers with 14 for Parr.

There was more action in the B/C division. Minnow Motors pulled down a pair of wins, first by beating Matt Parr Insurance 63-53 in a game led in scoring by Parr’s Justin Cooper, who had 31. Minnow also beat Ryan McCann Insurance, 43-35, in a game led in scoring by McCann’s Jesse Smith with 23.

Matt Parr Insurance lost to BFAS, with Mandy Fuchs for BFAS leading scorers with 20. Colonial Subaru split a pair of games: They beat Village Pizza 77-47, in a game led in scoring by Spencer Dalzell with 22. They fell to Spectrum Graphics, 58-45, largely due to the efforts of Spectrum’s Shawn Holzmann, who had 37 points on 11 threes.

Spectrum also beat Thruway Nissan 44-41. Ryan Dalton put down 21 for Spectrum. Nissan also fell to BFAS, 47-37. Bob Fennell had 17 for BFAS. Christino’s Pizza lost to Village Pizza–in a battle for B/C division pizza shop dominance–47-37; Bill Diedrick of Village led in scoring with 18 points. Christino’s also fell to Landworks, 52-32; Mike Rogers of Landworks led all scorers with 18. Landworks also ripped Thruway Nissan, beating them 57-56; George Donahue had 28 for Landworks.

Germantown beat Raiders, 73-69; Tucker Griffin of Raiders led all scorers with 30.
