Football: The Presidents have started 3-0, leading of with a 20-6 rout of Kingston Sept. 12. Head coach Brian Bellino’s team kept the ball on the ground and ran for 277 yards over 53 plays against the Tigers. They kept the streak alive with a 34-6 win over Poughkeepsie Sept. 12, with three different Presidents scoring; Kemyero King had 72 yards on 17 carries for a robust FDR backfield. The Presidents’ most recent victory was a 14-6 win over divisional opponent Pine Bush Sept. 19; FDR’s Nick Amone put up a pair of touchdowns on 104 yards.
Girls Soccer: FDR girls soccer has racked up four losses since Sept. 12. The Lady Presidents fell to Red Hook, 8-0, Sept. 12; to Wallkill, 4-0, on Sept. 15, to Saugerties, 4-0, on Sept. 17, and to Warwick, 6-1, on Sept. 19. The team’s record is now 1-6.
Boys Soccer: After keying Saugerties 2-0 at home to open the season Sept. 4, the Presidents had their record evened with a 2-1 road loss to Poughkeepsie on Sept. 9.
Girls Swim: The Lady Presidents fell to 1-5 with a loss to Washingtonville on Sept. 16, but FDR had three first-place finishes: Emma Reining in the 100m freestyle (58.83), Katelyn Patierno in the 100m breaststroke (1:17.40) and the 400m freestyle relay team (4:15.48).
