Red Hook/Rhinebeck Sports Wrap Up

Girls Soccer: The Red Hook Raiders are rolling. After beating Highland 5-1 on Sept. 16, behind goals from Claire Dyal and Shannon Berg and a bucket from Isabelle LaBarberra, head coach Jason Pavlich’s team is 6-1 overall against Mid-Hudson Athletic League opponents. They fell to Marlboro, 2-0, on Sept. 15 for their only loss, and beat FDR, 8-0, on Sept. 12. Rhinebeck girls soccer is also putting on a good show: the Lady Hawks are now 6-1, most recently winning in a 4-0 road romp over Millbrook. Michelle Giampartone chalked up three goals, and goalie Dani Amidon only had to make a pair of saves.

Boys Soccer: The Rhinebeck soccer team, back in Class C again, just can’t stop winning: The Hawks opened up the 2014 season 6-0, and against MHAL opponents. On Sept. 16, they beat Coleman Catholic, 7-0; Rhinebeck’s Eric Rodriguez scored a hat trick on the evening, and Walter Gadsby, Ryan Euell, Ian Katomski, and Chris Marvin added a bucket each. Red Hook’s boys are happily above .500 as well – and have managed a tie. The Raiders scored a 3-2 win over New Paltz on Sept. 15, with goals from Ethan Longenecker, Dennis Hare, and Zack Sivulich. They tied Marlboro, 0-0, on Sept. 18. Red Hook is now 4-2-1.

Volleyball: With head coach Bill Doyle’s return, the Rhinebeck Lady Hawks are now 6-1, most recently beating Saugerties, 4-1, on Sept. 18; Samantha Sherwood had 19 kills for Rhinebeck. Red Hook’s most recent match was a 3-0 loss to Marlboro Sept. 17; Cassidy Murray had 5 kills for the team. The Lady Raiders are 3-3 with the loss.

Cross Country: Red Hook’s boys cross country squad scored three wins at the Hudson Valley SportsDome on Sept. 16, beating Ellenville, 21-36; Marlboro, 15-46; and Dover, 15-46. At the same meet, Red Hook’s girls beat Dover, 15-47, and Marlboro, 16-45. Rhinebeck’s girls split the bill the same day at a meet at Mills Mansion: the Lady Hawks beat Saugerties, 22-37, and Millbrook, 23-36, but fell to Onteora, 19-36, and Wallkill, 22-33.
