One hundred fifty-seven new positive tests for coronavirus were reported on Friday, Dec. 4 in Dutchess County, according to the NYS Department of Health.

On Thursday, the most recent data posted by Dutchess County, the number of active cases being monitored by the county was 869, an increase of 79 from the previous day and COVID-19 hospitalizations were at 75, a drop of 2.

There was one new death attributed to the disease reported by the county.

Over the previous seven days, an average of 2,462 live virus tests were given to county residents each day. Compared to three weeks earlier, active cases were up 86%, hospitalizations were up 212% and there had been 20 new deaths caused by or related to COVID-19.
