COVID-19: two deaths, 144 new cases on Dec. 5 in Dutchess County

One hundred forty-four new positive tests for coronavirus were reported on Saturday, Dec. 5 in Dutchess County, according to the NYS Department of Health.

On Friday, the most recent data posted by Dutchess County, the number of active cases being monitored by the county was 947, an increase of 78 from the previous day and COVID-19 hospitalizations were at 72, a drop of 3.

There were two new deaths attributed to the disease reported by the county.

Over the previous seven days, an average of 2,529 live virus tests were given to county residents each day. Compared to three weeks earlier, active cases were up 87%, hospitalizations were up 188% and there had been 22 new deaths caused by or related to COVID-19.
