One hundred fifty-nine new positive tests for coronavirus were reported on Thursday, Dec. 17 in Dutchess County for a positivity rate of 4.4%, according to the NYS Department of Health.
On Wednesday, the most recent data posted by Dutchess County, the number of active cases being monitored by the county was 1,373, a drop of 79 from the previous day and COVID-19 hospitalizations were at 114, an increase of 4.
There was 1 new death attributed to the disease reported by the county.
Over the previous seven days, an average of 2,677 live virus tests were given to county residents each day. Compared to three weeks earlier, active cases were up 110%, hospitalizations were up 142% and there had been 24 new deaths caused by or related to COVID-19.
