Two hundred eighty-nine new positive tests for coronavirus were reported on Friday, Jan. 8 in Dutchess County for a positivity rate of 8.9%, according to the NYS Department of Health.
On Thursday, the most recent data posted by Dutchess County, the number of active cases being monitored by the county was 1811, an increase of 134 from the previous day and COVID-19 hospitalizations were at 151, an increase of 5.
There were 3 new deaths attributed to the disease reported by the county.
Over the previous seven days, an average of 2,652 live virus tests were given to county residents each day. Compared to three weeks earlier, active cases were up 27%, hospitalizations were up 52% and there had been 53 new deaths caused by or related to COVID-19.
